William was born in Motherwell, Scotland on April 7th, 1942. Shortly after the war, Bill’s parents elected to immigrate to Canada. He grew up in Cumberland, BC. Upon graduation, he attended Royal Roads and subsequently University of British Columbia, completing degrees in psychology and history. He joined the RCAF in 1966, where he would shortly find his future wife. He completed 27 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, and retired in the Comox Valley in 1993.
William is survived by his loving wife, Monique Marie Antoinette-Lise Welsh (Nee Lafaille), his two sons, Colin and James Welsh, and his daughter, Tanya Welsh.
