Wally was born in Ontario and was a proud Canadian, as you can tell by his many ball caps he wore. He often boasted that he lived in "The 2 best countries in the world."
A proud alumni of Brock University, he obtained a Bachelor's Degree in History. He graduated from Niagara University in Lewiston, NY where he completed his Masters in Political Science. Walter was a firm believer in education and was a school teacher for the Niagara Catholic School Board where he taught many subjects such as Religion, History, Mathematics, Physical Education, and Social Studies.
Walter donated regularly to many US and Canadian charities and was a major contributor to Brock University, St. Helen's Catholic Church, and the Conservative Party of Canada.
An avid sports fan, Walter particularly enjoyed watching Ice Hockey (Montreal Canadiens) and boasted "I have been a HABS fan since 1954." He also enjoyed CFL Football (Hamilton Tiger-Cats), NFL Football (Green Bay Packers), and Baseball (Toronto Blue Jays).
Walter was excited about traveling, especially cruising all over the world. His car collection and cigars were his passion.
A Celebration of Life for Walter will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Hodges Funeral Home At Naples Memorial Gardens (525 111th Ave N, Naples, Florida 34108), followed by a reception at 11:30 AM.
To our many concerned friends, the family would like to extend a sincere thank you, especially to caregiver, Yuliana, the staff at Naples Community Hospital, and the Collier County EMS who assisted in his final months.
Walter will be greatly missed by his beloved wife Kimberly, stepdaughter Mackenzie, and many family and friends both in Canada and Florida.
