Mitchell “Mickey” Noto, known for his vibrant spirit, boundless passion, and unwavering love, peacefully departed this life on March 1, 2024, in Sugar Land, TX, surrounded by his family, after a valiant battle with cancer. Born on February 28, 1967, in Brooklyn, NY, to Dennis Noto, Sr. and Marilyn Hackett, Mitch's journey touched the hearts of all who knew him.
Affectionately nicknamed Mickey by his beloved family, Mitch's childhood was marked by adventure and resilience. He attended elementary school in Farmingville, Long Island, and later navigated the transitions of his father's career, leading the family to Boerne, TX, and eventually Houston, TX, where he graduated with honors from Klein High School in 1985. Mitch's thirst for knowledge led him to the University of Oklahoma, where he earned a degree in Chemistry in 1990, laying the foundation for a distinguished career ahead.
Mitch's professional journey in the waste management industry spanned over three decades, characterized by dedication and excellence. Starting as a lab technician, he ascended to become a respected landfill executive, known for his expertise and commitment to his team. Even in the face of illness, Mitch continued to inspire as an environmental consultant, before retiring to focus on his health and cherished family.
A man of infectious humor and zest for life, Mitch's presence lit up every room he entered. His ability to tell stories and share laughter brought joy to those around him, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of many.
More than anything, Mitch loved his family, friends and his children were his greatest love and joy. He loved his mother and said she was the best mom anyone could ever have. He was loyal and generous to his family and friends. Mitch was very loved by those who were fortunate to know him and we will miss him deeply, but we know he is in a better place.
Mitch loved memorabilia and collectibles which included baseball cards, stamps, guns, sports memorabilia, watches, and in the past year casino chips. Sport cars were a passion of his and torn between which one he loved more, his Lamborghini or his Sting Ray. He loved to bowl and had his own bowling balls, shoes, bag and if you knew Mitch he went all on the accessories. BUT Las Vegas was his playground, and he loved the slot machines, and they were very kind to him. Mitch had a knack for picking the slots that were about to pay or knew when to walk away. But Mitch found that when he needed R&R, Destin, FL was his favorite destination, where he had gone every year with his family until he could no longer travel.
Mitch is preceded in death by his father, Dennis Noto, Sr., and his grandparents, Doris and Earl Hackett, Fred Noto, and Antoinette (Urbinato) Noto. He is survived by his loving wife, Diane Noto; cherished children, Faith and Dylan Noto; devoted mother, Marilyn McMurtry, and stepfather L. Alan McMurtry; older brother, Dennis Noto, Jr.; caring aunts and uncle, Judith Beebe (Walter), June Noto, and Kenneth Noto, Sr.; First cousins, Bill, Dawn, Wayne, and Tina Beebe, Kenneth Jr., Christina, and Nicholas Noto.
