Mary was born in Texas.Mary Elizabeth Sherron, known as Betty to friends and family, passed away Monday, February 26th, at her home in Aliso Viejo, CA. Her family was present.
After graduating high school in Dallas, TX, Betty went to New York for a summer to stay with family and work in the Chrysler Building. In her senior year at Austin College in Sherman, TX, Betty met the love of her life and husband of 71 years, Billy Bert Sherron.
Betty is survived by three children and a grandson: Beth Yudovin, Patti Sherron (Jack Carney), Bert David Sherron, and grandson, Austin Sherron. She is predeceased by her husband, Bert, and a son, Charles Sherron.
When her children were older, Betty started work at John Wayne Airport. She became interested in flying and earned her pilot license, complete with Visual as well as Instrument flight ratings. She bought a small Cessna and had many adventures, such as ferrying a feline to San Diego, which entailed an incredible story which involves her daughter, Patti. Betty’s main passenger in her aircraft was her husband, Bert. Together, they flew all over the country.
After retirement and settling in Irvine, California, Betty and Bert purchased S&S Screen Printing. Betty ran the operation and Bert was the main salesperson. She successfully ran this business for 12 years.
Betty enjoyed travel, and was an avid bridge player her entire life. in later years she played bridge in person and online. She almost always had a jigsaw puzzle on the table.
Betty made a positive impression on all who met her. She was always a loving wife, mother, and a beloved friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.
