It is with immense grief at the loss, and eternal gratitude at having shared the life of Mary Kent (nee Montesanto), a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, that we announce her peaceful passing, March 6th, 2024, in her 96th year. Mary joins the love of her life, Bernard (d. 2006), married in 1948. She will be deeply missed and treasured forever by her loving children, Paula (Joe), Leeanne (Tony), Barry (Rosanne) and Dale (Dave), her beloved grandchildren, Lia (Jason), Claire (Isaac), Kyle (Shaya), Aron (Carah), Danielle (Darcy), Victoria (Sean), Maddie (Steven), and Katie, and eight precious great-grandchildren Camryn, Lauren, Emmersyn, Nina, Amara, Everett, Elizabeth and Sasha. She will also be fondly remembered by many loving nieces, nephews and long-time friends and colleagues. Mary was the last matriarch of the Vincenzo and Santina Montesanto family, predeceased by her brothers and sisters, to whom she was very close her whole life. Mary was also well loved by Bernard’s family who welcomed her with open arms. She was totally committed to her family, enjoyed her work at the Hamilton Public Library, and was a whiz at playing Rumicube and Chinese Checkers with family and friends, alike. Always a person of deep faith and commitment to her church, Mary belonged to the St. Eugene’s Catholic Women’s League for many years and also generously supported many charities as she always believed in “giving back.” We sincerely extend our thanks to the caring staff at Amica Retirement Residence where Mary spent several years. Their genuine care and consideration, especially in her final days, will never be forgotten by the family. As Mary wished, there will be no visitation. She will be cremated and at a later date, a Mass and Celebration of Life will take place – time and date to be announced. Donations to your local Food Bank in remembrance would be greatly appreciated.
Memories wrapped in love last forever… until we meet again.
