Joyce E. Mead, 92, of Columbus, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 1, 2024 at her daughter's home surrounded by family. She was born August 14, 1931 in Columbus to William S. and Victoria V. (Taulman) Everroad. They preceded her in death.
Joyce was a member of Phi Beta Psi sorority. She worked for Joy’s Bridal Shoppe and later was an Estee Lauder consultant at Elder-Beerman and then Carson's.
Joyce was an avid reader, loved to travel, enjoyed sewing and knitting along with growing roses. She loved animals especially her Chihuahua Callie along with the pups and kitties she lived with in Elizabethtown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, William H. and Patrick H. Everroad.
Survivors include her loving daughters, Nancy M. (Paul Jr.) Nolting of Shelbyville, Sherry M. (Jim) Dettmer of Elizabethtown, and Cindy L. Mead of Columbus; brother, James M. Everroad of Columbus; and sister, Jane E. Louden of Columbus. Also surviving are grandchildren, Claire Jackson, Zach Dettmer, Hannah Patterson, Sadie Kohl, and Cade, Lou, Hayden and Chloe Jorgensen; as well as seven great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Janice Everroad.
The funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Myers-Reed Chapel with Deacon Bill Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Visitation will also be at the funeral home Wednesday from 11:00 am until service time.
