Jeanne Robertson Dalrymple 70, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away Friday, March 1, after a short battle with liver cancer. She approached her end with the wisdom and humor she was loved and known for. One of her last gifts to us was to show up with true courage and bravery facing her diagnosis with dignity and grace. Even as her illness kept her so very sick, she continued to take care of her family and friends. She left this world more beautiful than she found it.
She grew up in Houston, Texas and was the first daughter of Bob and Yolanda Robertson. During her childhood, she was surrounded by family and cousins from Mexico and would spend holidays and vacations with them all. She loved sharing these stories as these were some of her fondest memories. She had a true love of Mexico, the culture and her family and held it all so close to her heart.
She married Don Dalrymple where together they moved to ten cities, even moving as far as Kuwait, and finally returning to Texas where they claimed The Woodlands as their final home. She had two daughters: Kimberly and Kelli, who were the greatest joys of her life. Her best role in life was Mom and later Gigi to her favorite person in the world, Cole. She had the deepest love for Cole and was his biggest fan and supporter in his in all of interests.
Jeanne could turn any house into a home and it was her absolute favorite thing to do. She had endless creativity and a true gift for decorating. She was quick to tell you if something was in poor taste or you could do better in your choices. She loved fashion and always knew the latest styles and trends and had such an eye for beautiful things. Jeanne absolutely loved any chance for a celebration and had a true gift for making everything over the top and amazing. Entertaining was her love language. We would lovingly tease her that she was even better than Martha Stewart. Jeanne had a wonderful way of bringing people together and making them comfortable and was the ultimate hostess. She had a natural gift to meet people where they were and was incredibly sensitive to others' struggles and always had the utmost compassion. She was so incredibly generous. She would give to anyone who was in need and always putting others first. She was so very beautiful and friendly, loving, warm, elegant and full of class. She always knew the right thing to say or do and made sure you ultimately did what she said. No exceptions! She experienced and overcame great obstacles throughout her life; unbearably, the loss of her youngest daughter, Kelli and allowed her faith to carry her through whatever life continued to bring to her. To us, she was a true example of someone that always did the right thing, even when it was hard and will forever be an inspiration to all who loved her. 70 years was truly not enough with her and she will be forever missed in this world.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly and son-in-law, William Bayne, Her beloved grandson, Cole, brother, William Robertson (Pam) and sister, Peggy Chapman (Edward) as well as extended family members, nieces and nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, mother, aunts and uncles and precious daughter, Kelli. Her funeral service will be held Friday, March 8 at 1:00 PM at Forest Park The Woodlands and a Celebration of Life remembrance at Kirby’s The Woodlands immediately after.
