Walking down the aisle can be a very nerve-racking experience for anyone, but when you're a celebrity, all eyes are on you and your marriage. For some, it truly was "until death do us part." But for others, the wedding was just another high-profile event for the books. Regardless, these elegant images capture the happy moments when stars shared their love with the world.
John Lennon and Yoko Ono
The Beatle and his songwriter bride pose with their marriage certificate on March 21, 1969. The pair are standing in front of the Rock of Gibraltar in southwestern Europe. Their marriage was the second for the famous rocker and the third for her. They remained married until his tragic death in 1980.
Robert Wagner & Natalie Wood
Television actor Robert Wagner and Rebel Without a Cause starlet Natalie Wood smile for the cameras as they leave the church following their wedding ceremony in Scottsdale, Arizona, on December 28, 1957. The two divorced several years later, in 1962. They both went on to have short-lived second marriages that came to an end when Wagner and Wood decided to remarry in 1972. Betty White and Allen Ludden
Television icon Betty White and game show personality Allen Ludden tied the knot on June 14, 1963, in a ceremony held at the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. The pair stayed together until his death in 1981. The marriage marked the third for White, who never went on to remarry.

Sammy David Jr. And May Britt
On November 13, 1960, the legendary singer/songwriter married Swedish film actress May Britt in a ceremony held at Davis' Hollywood home. At the time, interracial marriage was still forbidden in over half the U.S. states, but the two forged on, and the marriage lasted until 1968. They both went on to marry once more.
Angela Lansbury and Peter Shaw
The British actress and star of Murder, She Wrote, Angela Lansbury, cuts the cake with her husband, producer Peter Shaw, on their wedding day, August 13, 1949. This was the second marriage for her, but it was his first and only. They remained married until his death in 2003.
Liza Minnelli & Peter Allen

Rita Hayworth & Prince Aly Khan
The glamorous movie star of the 1940s married into royalty on May 28th, 1949. Her union to Prince Aly Khan, son of Sultan Mahommed Shah, was her third marriage and his second. The couple divorced in 1953. She went on to have two more marriages, while he never walked down the aisle again.
Anthony Hopkins and Jennifer Lynton
The Silence of the Lambs actor and his film assistant wife are all smiles following their nuptials at Barnes Methodist Church on January 13, 1973. They stayed married for 29 years, divorcing in 2002. The Welsh Academy Award winner married Stella Arroyave the following year.
Brigitte Bardot & Roger Vadim
French screenwriter Roger Vadim tied the knot with French actress and model Brigitte Bardot on December 12th, 1952. The marriage was a first for both stars, and they split in in 1957. Vadim went on to have four more marriages, while Bardot had three.
Elton John & Renate Blauel
Sir Elton John and his wife Renate wave to the crowd as they exit their wedding ceremony on Valentine's Day in 1984. He remained with the German recording engineer until their divorce in 1988. He later went on to marry advertising exec David Furnish in 2014.
Elizabeth Taylor & Conrad Hilton, Jr.

The glamorous starlet and royal Prince celebrated their marriage in the Monaco cathedral. Kelly officially became Princess of Monaco on April 19th, 1956, when the couple walked down the aisle. They stayed together until her death in 1982. It was the sole marriage for both of them.
Audrey Hepburn & Andrea Dotti
The Breakfast at Tiffany's star and the Italian psychiatrist pose for a photo after their wedding on January 18th, 1969. They remained married until 1982. Dotti's marriage to Hepburn was his sole union, while he was her second husband.
John Wayne & Esperanza Baur
The western movie star walked down the aisle with Mexican beaut Esperanza Baur in 1946. The marriage marked the second time Wayne said "I do" and the couple divorced in 1954. He later went on to marry actress Pilar Pallete the same year, and the two separated in 1973.
Paul McCartney & Linda Eastman

Judy Garland & Vincente Minnelli
Director Vincente Minnelli and actress Judy Garland cut the wedding cake after their nuptials in 1945. The marriage was the second of five for The Wizard of Oz starlet, and the first of four for the Academy Award-winning director. They divorced in 1951.
Lucille Ball & Desi Arnaz
The comedic pair share a kiss after their (second) wedding ceremony in 1949. The two initially married in 1940, but Ball filed for divorce in 1944. The couple reconciled, but a hit show and sky-high ratings didn't keep the duo in paradise forever. They divorced in 1960. She went on to marry comedian Gary Morton in 1961, while he wed Edith Mack Hirsch in 1963.
Tony Curtis & Janet Leigh
Some Like it Hot star Tony Curtis and Psycho's Janet Leigh share a glass of champagne during their wedding in Greenwich, Connecticut on June 4th, 1951. The marriage was the third of four for Leigh and the first of six of Curtis. The two split in 1961 and share two children together, including Jamie Lee Curtis.
