Glenn “Beau” Richard Payton, age 72, of Middleburg, Florida passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, February 29, 2024. He was born on February 29, 1952 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late, Samuel and Mary Payton. Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 21 years Cindy Payton. Glenn was a devoted father to daughters Lee Payton Rouse (Daniel) and Kacie Savoie (Kylie), and loving grandfather to Jacob, Jolie, Weston, Hannah, and Leah. Glenn is preceded in death by his brothers Samuel Payton and Jerry Payton (Dempy); and many nieces and nephews.
Glenn leaves behind a legacy of dedication and hard work in both international and domestic sectors of the oilfield industry. He embarked on a remarkable career spanning 40 years, during which he made significant contributions to the global energy landscape. Glenn had an innovative approach and proudly patented several inventions. His most recent work has been as a member of the P3 Global Personnel team working on multiple Royal Dutch Shell projects.
Beyond his professional achievements, Glenn was a proud Free Mason of Lodge Gerard H. Barrios No. 469 F. & A.M. (Master of Lodge 1996 & 2009), an avid member of the Farhad Grotto (Monarch 2014), a loyal member of Bug Control (Captain 2013) and a member of The Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #4365 Orange Park, FL.
Glenn was a pillar of strength to his family. As a father and grandfather, he was unwavering in his support and devotion, always providing guidance, love and encouragement. His legacy of love, hard work, and integrity will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to have known him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
Family and friends will be invited to attend a Celebration of Life once a date and location has been arranged.
