Evangelina G. Vallejo, age 100, ascended into eternal life with the Lord on February 28th 2024. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family and her providers.
Evangelina, a Brownsville native and loyal parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church was a wonderful wife, mother, grandma, cook, gardener and friend. She provided a blessed home environment filled with devotion to God, faith, family and friends. She constantly encouraged us to trust in God's will and to never lose faith. She loved cooking and providing delicious food for family, friends, and everyone who visited. She always brought so much love and laughter into every room.
Evangelina has given us so many unforgettable moments, we are all so blessed with all the special memories we had with her. Especially seeing her skills of gardening; roses and flora that bloomed around her home. Our mother, grandma, great-grandma, great-great-grandma and friend will not be forgotten. What an amazing legacy she left behind and wonderful life she lived. The memories of her will always be cherished and last forever.
Evangelina, the youngest of the Gonzales family is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jesus Vallejo and all her brothers and sisters.
She is survived by all her children; two sons Dionicio and Jesse Vallejo and five daughters Noelia Leal, Yolanda M. Vallejo, Elva (Fernando) San Miguel, Sandra (Larry) Johnston, Rosie (Raymond) Longoria, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and other relatives.
A visitation for Evangelina will be held Friday, March 8, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM in Chapel of Peace at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville,. Texas 78521. A mass will occur Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St Mary's Catholic Church, 1914 Barnard Rd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. Followed by a burial on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Buena Vista Burial Park, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521.
