Clara Faye Simpson, better known as Faye, age 89, of Norman, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord on February 29, 2024 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Faye was born in Elk City, Oklahoma on June 18, 1934 to Elzie and Cora (Freeman) Kirkland.
After graduating from Elk City High School, Faye married the love of her life, RB Simpson, on November 15, 1953. They spent 48 wonderful years together and raised four children before RB’s passing in September of 2002. Faye and RB lived in Elk City until 1965, Germany from 1965 to 1968, Rush Springs from 1969 to 1973, Amarillo, Texas from 1973 to 2002. After RB’s passing, Faye moved to Norman. Faye loved being a wife, mother, grandma, great grandma, and great great grandma.
In Faye’s free time, she loved the color purple, listening to Country, Western, and Church music, spending time with her family, and giggling at everything.
Faye was a member of the Church of Nazarene. She lived her life as an example of faith and serving others. She will always be remembered by friends and family as a faithful servant.
Faye is preceded in death by husband RB Simpson, son Billy Lynn Simpson, and parents Elzie and Cora (Freeman) Kirkland.
Those left to cherish Faye’s memory are her children Terry Simpson (Sherry) of Austin, Texas, Richard Benny Simpson of Moore, Tony Ray Simpson (Regina) of Blanchard; brothers Kenneth Kirkland (Loraine), Billy Gene Kirkland (Madeline), and William “Butch” Kirkland (Sharon); Sister Patty Miller; grandchildren Heather, Tara, Dana, Kevin, Latisa, Jeff, Joey, Jesse, Jennifer, Josh, Phillip, Daniel, Jon, and BJ; 39 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and fur baby Tinker Bell.
A visitation for Clara will be held Monday, March 4, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Primrose Funeral Service, 1109 North Porter Ave, Norman, OK 73071. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Primrose Funeral Service & Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 1109 N Porter Ave, Norman, Oklahoma 73071. A committal service will occur Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Memory Gardens Cemetery of Amarillo, 14200 Texas Plains Trl, Amarillo, TX 79119.
