Tony was one to overcome obstacles. When he was a child he was badly burned; not only did he survive (a miracle in and of itself), you guessed it, he thrived. He went on to marry the love of his life Ada Beatrice to whom he was devoted husband for over 70 years. He called his wife Ada, " a beauty to the end." Tony worked his way through pharmacy school and retired from the Fort Myers Beach Garl's pharmacy. He would bring in freshly baked donuts for his coworkers every Saturday.
Tony is survived by his 10 children; Thomas Fiore, Mary Anne (Kim) Petrie, Chris (Mark ) Rowe, Ada (John) Hosier, Valerie Fiore, Lynne (John) Brite, Steve (Ann) Fiore, Ed (Diane) Fiore, James (Angel) Fiore and Charlotte Fiore ; 23 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Frank Fiore and sister Anita (Fiore) Price; many nieces and nephews and extended family.
Tony instilled in his children a fun sense of humor, love of music, good food, but most of all love of family. Almost daily he would tell us " if we have our health, we have everything."
Tony believed that higher education was a path to the "American dream" and most all of his able children went to college and some onto graduate school. Another had an entrepreneurial spirit and ran her own successful business for over 35 years.
Tony made everyone feel individually loved and cared for. He always asked about our lives and the lives of our family, children, grandchildren and friends. He never met a stranger. He was very sociable and loved to meet new people especially at the church dinners at Saint Andrews Catholic Church in Cape Coral.
You may have noticed Tony and Ada enjoying a weekly date for donuts and coffee at Dunkin Donuts on Del Prado Boulevard in Cape Coral. Tony was a biking enthusiast and rode his 2 wheeled bike in the Fort Myers- Cape Coral area almost daily until about 6 months ago. He loved watching football especially his alma mater Syracuse! Dad loved to read and would often be reading a few books at a time.
Tony's son James and his wife Angel were instrumental in providing and protecting Dad 's quality of life. To James and Angel we owe a depth of gratitude, for which, if even if we lived 100 years, we would never be able to repay. We would also like to thank; all of the Priests and the Knights' of Columbus throughout their years there as parishioners at St Andrew's Church in Cape Coral, Florida; Dr Alejandro Martinez and his wonderful team of healthcare specialists; kind neighbor's Bill and Caroline; Lisa from Comfort Keepers; the amazing staff at Hope Hospice; Hearts and Homes for their care, compassion and patience; as well as the volunteers who drove Dad to church weekly and on church holy days.
