Lois “Ann” Grant, age 83, of Prosper, Texas passed away at home, surrounded by her husband and children, on March 6, 2024 due to complications from Multiple Myeloma and Osteoporosis. Born July 15, 1940 in Akron, Ohio to Richard Campbell Jugenheimer and Lois Marie (Wright) Jugenheimer, she was the oldest of four children.
Ann attended Mercy College in Detroit, graduating initially with a Bachelors of Science in Medical Technology and many years later, with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. After moving to Dallas in 1978, she completed her graduate nursing degree at the University of Texas – Arlington. She was a licensed Nurse Practitioner specializing in Geriatrics and used her training in Dallas, Richardson and Plano working on affordable housing for seniors, providing care in senior center health care clinics and assisting with and participating in senior educational programs. Most recently, Ann was involved in the Town of Prosper CERT Program (Community Emergency Response Team) working as a volunteer with the fire department on disaster preparedness.
Ann is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Robert Grant, her five children Michael (Jerry), Ann Marie, Robert (Kim), Christina and Paul (Marci), her eight grandchildren, Adam (Terra), Nicole (Tyler), Alex (Alexis), Weston, Marshall, Jack, Max and Maya, and two great grandchildren, Arya and Taraq, along with her brothers Rich (Kathy) and John (Patti). She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Peter (Barbara).
A celebration of life visitation for Ann will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Stonebriar Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 10375 Preston Road, Frisco, TX 75033. A rosary service will occur Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 4:00 PM, 10375 Preston Road, Frisco, TX 75033. A funeral service will occur Monday, March 11, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church, 3990 W University Dr., Prosper, TX 75078.
In lieu of flowers, Ann requests memorial donations be made to The League of Women Voters, Emily’s List, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or No Kid Hungry Texas.
